Madegan is a Certified Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst and Registered Somatic Movement Therapist.

Her fascination with human movement began at a young age through dance. While completing an undergraduate degree in Movement Studies and Biology, she continued to train and perform as a member of the Ithaca Ballet Company. She wrote her thesis on Kinesthetic Consciousness, researching the role of proprioception in neuromuscular connectivity. After graduating, she began a postgraduate program to become a Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst and Somatic Movement Therapist through Integrated Movement Studies (IMS) and the University of Utah.

After becoming a Movement Analyst, Madegan returned to Ithaca Ballet where she continued performing while working as an in-house analyst and therapist for company members and other clients. In 2022 she joined the faculty at IMS, where she has been lecturing and mentoring ever since.

Now located in Portland, ME, Madegan has spent years refining her understanding of the interactive systems that influence the body, and how their function affects movement potential. She is fascinated by the interaction between the nervous and musculoskeletal systems, and how we can utilize their relationship to change human behavior.

Madegan loves to dance, play outside, rock climb, cook elaborate meals for her friends, draw, daydream, and be alone in the woods.
